EPS
Encapsulated PostScript
EPS is a PostScript file format designed to embed a single page or graphic within a larger document. Developed by Adobe in 1987, it can contain vector paths, raster images, and fonts described in the PostScript language, making it a mainstay of pre-press and print production workflows throughout the 1990s and 2000s. EPS has largely been superseded by PDF in modern print workflows because PDF has better color management and metadata support, but EPS files remain common in stock illustration libraries and legacy design assets.
