WPD

WPD is the native document format of Corel WordPerfect, one of the dominant word-processors of the 1980s and early 1990s before Microsoft Word took over. The binary format uses a system of "reveal codes" that expose formatting tokens directly, which users found transparent but non-standard. WordPerfect retains a significant install base in the legal profession, where its document assembly features and footnote handling are highly valued.
