FB2

FB2 is an XML-based e-book format popular in Russia and Eastern Europe, created to provide a structured, semantic representation of prose fiction. An entire book is stored in a single XML file, with elements for chapters, titles, epigraphs, and inline formatting rather than page-layout primitives. FB2 files are compact and parse quickly, but the format lacks the CSS styling capabilities of EPUB, making it less suited to complex or illustrated content.
